Lens review: I.Fairy Sirius Blue

Hello peeps!

After some silence (blame the shit weather) I'm now back with another circle lens review and this time it's gonna be all about the I.Fairy Sirius Blue! I love the name Sirius, it sounds like it could be a character in a fantasy book. :D Thankfully these are about as magical as they sound!

Base curve: 8.6 mm
Diameter: 16.2 mm

Water content: 55%

Life span: 1 year (I recommend 6 months)

I had high hopes for these as the design is really intricate and unique – it's not your ordinary everyday lens as the detailed pattern really makes these lenses busy-looking and enchanting. The size is also really generous and the thick bold limbal ring takes it to the next level. I guess the pattern could be described as geometric, although it kinda looks like it could be inspired from either flower petals, some fancy star or even a magic spell circle – whatever your imagination wants to interpret it as.

The blue color itself is on the darker side of medium and it's quite a deep color. I do honestly wish that it could perhaps have been a bit lighter (imagine icy blue, that would have been so rad!) but it's pretty cool as-is. I just think that a lighter shade would probably have made the elaborate pattern show up more and not disappear into the lens as much as it does, especially when viewed from a distance. It's not a big deal but I'm personally a sucker for intense light blue lenses and constantly hoping to come across the perfect pair, lmao.

The color coverage is good, although these lenses do the typical obvious ring in the middle were your real eye color shows completely and, depending on the light conditions and your real eye color, it might or might not 'clash' with your iris. This is extremely common with circle lenses in general and especially those with larger diameters so yeah, it's not something I really think twice about but I know that it tends to bother some wearers more than others. These do not blend all that well and because of the highly pigmented color these lenses end pretty abruptly at the center, meaning they won't look natural. Not like such a huge size and fancy pattern would look natural anyway.

Comfort is pretty nice. I can easily wear these past two hours, which is quite a feat on my stupidly dry eyes. Despite their size they don't feel uncomfortable and I don't feel them much at all, which is always a big plus. These lenses were also easy to insert and they feel quite thin. I would assume that average wearing time for me would be anything between 2-5 hours, but for people without dry and/or sensitive eyes I think 4-8 hours would be more like it. Better than average, definitely.

All in all I'm really happy with these! I'd say that this is an exquisite fashion lens over a cosplay lens; not saying it won't work for cosplay, just that the pattern makes the color of the lens look darker on distance photos and if you're looking for bright blue and 'popping' lenses then these will not quite cut it. But for alternative fashion and the like these are a great buy, especially if you like to take close-up photos as then these lenses really get to show off their fabulously artistic print! It's definitely a fun lens and is sure to make your peepers stand out and, depending on what kind of look you're going for, these can look quite ethereal and fantasy-like!

A deep, darker-than-average blue lens. It looks good but I do personally wish that it was lighter as that would likely put more emphasis on the intricate print.

Design: 10/10

Beautiful, really stylized and detailed geometric print that is reminiscent of a magic casting spell.

Opacity: 8/10

Dense color pixels and thus provides a solid coverage.

Enlargement: 8/10

Really big and the massive limbal ring only adds to it.

Comfort: 7/10

Quite nice. I don't feel them much, easy to wear and no discomfort. Approximate 2-5 hours on super dry eyes.

Naturalness: 2/10

This is a fashion lens for the bold ones, it's really far from natural.

Lens review: TheDollyEye Starry Eye Violet

Hello people!

Yep, you guessed right – it's a circle lens review that I'll invite you all to today! It's the Starry Eye Violet by TheDollyEye (also simply DollyEye) that's on the limelight this time. Let's get to reviewing these gorgeous sparkly bastards, whoop-di-doo ~

Water content: 55%

Life span: 1 year (I recommend 6 months)

Already by looking at how the lenses appear in the little glass bottles you can figure out that the color's gonna be delicious. It's this really vivid, rich violet that speaks volumes to me and, even better, the transparency of the lens provides a 'halo effect' that amplifies these babies to eleven! It's a really breathtaking lens and looks absolutely stunning!

On the photo above you can see that I have light blue-gray eyes and these look really nice on me. Of course the color's not going to be natural but I dare say that the soft blending effect and the lack of a prominent limbal ring still makes these seem, somehow, not too fake-looking despite the clearly unnatural color. Also, the color coverage is good, although I did notice that in some poorer lights the lenses appear a bit gray-ish on first glance – it's no big deal and, if you stay past that first glance, you will notice that they are in fact violet.

The way the lenses are designed makes them look really fresh and mesmerizing – it's like there's this constant shimmering and glimmering effect to my eyes and it's wonderful. The streaky design provides depth and really pulls the viewer's gaze in – you can't really go wrong with these if you're looking to make an impression. The lenses makes my eyes look young and alive and it's quite the delightful look!

Comfort is just like on their gray counterparts – all good. I do struggle with a case of super dry bullshit eyes but I can wear these for about 3-5 hours just fine, which is really good in my book as my eyes tend to rebel after the first hour for most lenses I've tried lately. These are really easy to put on and super thin and invisible –they are so comfortable that I don't feel them in my eyes at all, except for the few instances when they would blur my vision for a few seconds.

What can I say? These lenses are amazing. I would definitely repurchase them and because of their bright and popping color I would recommend them in a heartbeat for cosplay and j-fashion alike – I'm sure these are versatile and would be a great addition to almost any outfit that turns heads. It's a beautifully vivid lens and I must admit that these actually look better in real life than on my photos, haha. My photos don't do these justice.

Lens review: TheDollyEye Starry Eye Gray

What's up?

I'll continue with the circle lenses as mentioned earlier – I have a lot of pairs waiting for their turn this summer so I'm totally gonna be chugging out a ton of reviews! 

Today's review will be about the Starry Eye Gray lenses made by TheDollyEye (aka DollyEye). I normally don't really care for gray lenses that much, as I think it's a pretty boring color, but I must admit that these lenses are something else!

The Starry Eye series are really amazing in terms of design; it's one of those lenses that are really versatile and stunning. The print might not look all that extraordinary on first glance but it does transform your eyes into these glimmering, popping gemstones!

The lenses have this cool-toned gray color that really speaks to me. The lack of a prominent limbal ring makes these look surprisingly natural, despite the vibrant color. It's a pretty rare combination to find a lens that is both colorful, opaque and natural at the same time. x)

As you can see I have naturally light blue-gray eyes and these blend like a dream for me! The transition is so soft and fluid that you barely notice where the lens meets my real eye color, it's amazing. I also adore the pretty 'halo effect' at the edges, really gives my peepers that alluring, mystical look. 

The enlargement is pretty nice and the opacity does its job in perfect harmony. The lenses make such a fresh sparkly and lively look to my eyes – it's a really captivating and magical effect! I seriously love how these look, definitely one of my top favorite gray lenses that I've had so far. Never thought I'd be so captivated by a gray lens, lmao.

Comfort is pretty nice. Bear in mind that I have problematic eyes that are really dry and sensitive, but even I can wear these for about 3-5 hours, which is really good in my standards as my eyes usually reject lenses after the first couple hours because of dryness. These are super easy to insert and really thin and comfortable – I barely feel them in my eyes, except for when they blur my vision for a few seconds every now and again.

I could keep praising these for all eternity but I just seriously dig how they look! It's such a soft look and I can't get enough of how they make my eyes look like bright crystals with that kind of fantasy flair that brings your thoughts to the purest beings. It's a super cute and attractive lens and I would recommend it for cosplay and j-fashion alike! The Starry Eye lenses actually almost look better in real life because of the nuances and reflections it does in all the different lights (I feel like my photos don't do them justice at all), it's simply fascinating how colored contacts can do such a big difference. Seriously get these if you want eyes like an angel.

Lens review: TheDollyEye Pop C Light Brown

Yooooo!

Here we go again, lens review time! Today it's Pop C Light Brown on the plate from TheDollyEye (often spelled just DollyEye) and without further ado, let's go!

Base curve: 8.6 mm
Diameter: 15.0 mm

Water content: 55%

Life span: 1 year (I recommend 6 months)

I bought these a very long time ago because they were on sale. These wouldn't normally have been my first choice but who can resist super cheap lenses? x) 

I feel like the design is pretty basic, it looks similar to the GEO Angel series and other classical circle lens design that you stumble upon everywhere. What these do have to their defense though is a hyper black limbal ring which really nets you those big dolly eyes. They're really cute-looking when worn and provide a youthful, innocent look.

My natural eye color is a light blue-gray and I must admit that I believe these lenses would look much better on dark eyes – I feel like the brown color, because of its transparency and light pigmentation, kinda gets "lost" on my eyes. It's not an ugly color but it's disappointing (especially when compared with how nice the blue pair looked on me) and because of how muddled it looks it's actually quite hard to distinguish what the color is supposed to be, especially when seen from a distance.

Comfort is.. okay-ish I think? Bear in mind I have really sensitive and dry eyes but yeah, these feel nice and fresh upon insertion but I experienced some dry bouts on and off, along with some short-lived stinginess a couple times. Two hours in I noticed that my vision was getting a bit blurred from the lenses but it didn't hinder me from doing daily tasks. I would estimate the wearing time for anything between 2-4 hours, which is pretty okay in my current standards as my eyes have been dry douchebags for a while now.

I guess these lenses would be fine if you're looking for this kind of really, err, diluted some-sort-of-brownish color? But don't get them if you're light eyed and want beautiful, clearly brown eyes as that's probably not what you'll get. Although I must admit they actually look pretty nice in sunlight, hmm...

Short summary:

Color: 3/10
Looks muddled and sort of indistinguishable as brown. Probably nicer on dark eyes...
Design: 6/10
A pretty ordinary design but at least it's versatile.
Opacity: 4/10
Not so good opacity but could be worse; my real eye color affects the final outcome a lot.

Enlargement: 6/10
Big enough to look weird without eye makeup.
Comfort: 4/10 
Mixed bag. Really comfy for the first hour but then they would feel dry on and off, also blurs my vision past two hours for some reason. A bit stingy on occasion but still wearable overall.
Naturalness: 3/10
The bold black rim kills it but the color isn't too weird.
